Samsung 85" 85S9 Ultra HD TV (4K) Price In India Is Rs. 27 Lakh!

Samsung's 85" beast, the 85S9 Ultra HD TV has been launched in India with a brain-blasting price tag of Rs. 27 lakh only. The display fanatics may recall that the 85S9 Ultra HDTV was announced by Samsung at the Consumer Electronics Show and then demonstrated it at Samsung Forum event in Hyderabad. The TV offers eye-popping 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160); which in plain words is four times the resolution of the brand new full HD (1080p) TV you bought home yesterday.

The TV is the first 4K Ultra HDTV in India and comes with a unique chassis to support the TV. The design is quite unique from Samsung's rivals and integrates massive 120 Watt speaker system (20 W x 2, Woofer 20 W x 2, Center 40 W) inside the frame. The TV is capable of scaling up full HD (1080p) videos to Ultra HD resolutions. The TV also supports conversion of 2D content into 3D for your viewing pleasures. It also comes with Samsung's One Connect solutions to eliminate the web of wires that connect to the TV set.

The S85S9 features Smart Evolution kit that allows the user to swap the motherboard with an upgraded version so that the TV remains up-to date on the hardware and firmware fronts. It will also be incredibly useful in offering users with the latest technological advances to offer new features.

On the features side, the TV is already well ahead of its competition. Apart from regular features like built-in camera for video conferencing, face recognition, motion control, voice control etc. the TV offers ConnectShare, Smart Phone As Remote, DLNA AllShare etc. The TV has 4 HDMI ports, 3 USB ports, build-in Wireless LAN, Component & Composite Input ports, 1 IR out, Digital Optical Out and one Audio Mini-Jack out.

The technical awesomeness of the TV is clouded by the price tag Samsung's attached to the TV. We'd like to know your opinion on the price of this TV and general opinion on 4K display technology.

Motorola Droid Ultra smartphone listed online

Motorola Droid Ultra smartphone listed online, Kevlar body confirmed
Remember those mysterious Motorola DROID Razr Ultra smartphonesthat we told you about a few days ago? It looks like these are indeed real handsets as a placeholder page on Motorola's web site has one of them mentioned. "Available in a bunch of glossy colors, this high-grade DuPont™ Kevlar body proves you can be even thinner and still be tough as steel." – that's what is stated on there about a phone referred to as the DROID Ultra.

Unfortunately, there isn't much more that we can say about this newsmartphone. There are some hardware specs listed on the page, but we are pretty sure these aren't correct as they match those of the Motorola DROID RAZR M. However, that leaves plenty of room for speculation. Perhaps the Motorola DROID Ultra is one of the several smartphones that Motorola may launch along with or right after its X phone.

So who's excited about these upcoming members of Verizon's DROID smartphone family? Let us know down in the comments!

Windows Phone 8 to get 1080p display support

Windows Phone 8 to get 1080p display support, more evidence surfaces
This may not be the first time we hear about Windows Phone 8 getting 1080p display support, but it is now that we get some solid evidence in support of this claim. Apparently, the Visual Studio 2013 suite, which was previewed during Microsoft's Build conference, has the option to emulate Windows Phone handsets with 1080 by 1920 pixel displays. Thus, it allows developers to see how their software runs and behaves on a WP8 smartphone with a screen of that resolution.

Windows Phone 8 will eventually support 1080p screens
Windows Phone 8 will eventually support 1080p screens
Support for resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels is expected to be added with the GDR3 update, which would allow smartphone manufacturers to launch Windows Phone 8 smartphones with 1080p displays. You know, displays that have been present on select Android devices for nearly a year now. That software will also allow quad-core CPU Snapdragon chips to be used in WP8 gear.

The GDR3 software update for Windows Phone 8 won't be out anytime soon, however, although it is expected to be available to manufacturers by the end of 2013. Currently it is the GDR2 software being readied for existing Windows Phone 8 gear - the same WP8 version running on the recently launched Nokia Lumia 925.

Apple applies for 'iWatch' trademark in Mexico and Taiwan

Like the Japan filing, Apple requested protection of the "iWatch" moniker in Mexico and Taiwan on June 3, just two days prior to yet another application in Russia. All requests pertain to computing hardware or, more specifically, portable computing devices.

Included in of the filing with Mexico's Institute of Industrial Property, as first discovered by 9to5Mac, Apple includes a basic graphic of the name, which reads "IWATCH" in bold block letters. Also noted in the document is Apple's name and address at 1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino, though the application was lodged by a local law firm.

Graphic included in Apple's Mexican "iWatch" trademark application.

According to a separate report by MacRumors, the Taiwan filing also bears the same graphic and notes Apple's name and California headquarters.

While there has yet to be any "leaks" surrounding the supposed device, many reports cite insiders as saying Apple is hard at work on the "iWatch" project. Also unknown is what form the purported device will take, though most believe it will look like an advanced wristwatch.

AppleInsider was first to discover a U.S. Apple patent filing in February for a wearable computing device that boasted a flexible touchscreen fitted to a bendable bracelet.

Due to cost and the current state of technology, such a design is unlikely to appear anytime soon, though the technical features detailed by the invention could make it into a possible first-generation product.

Other tech companies like Apple rival Samsung have already announced that they will be rolling out "smart watch" products later in 2013. With the exception of Google Glass, the head-mounted augmented reality "glasses" device, most are believed to be wrist-worn.

Most recently, Apple's partner manufacturer Foxconn announced it will debut an iPhone-compatible smart watch this year, complete with biometric data sensors and low-level remote control features.

Super Golf Land

Check out this awesome FREE physics-based game! No golf skills required!

Overall Score: 4/5

Super Golf Land hits a hole-in-one with me. Extremely enjoyable gameplay mixes with good presentation and lasting value to create a must-have free game.

Gameplay: 5/5

This game is more of a physics mini-game than an actual golf game. You have to navigate tricky courses using perfect aim and velocity. The aiming system is similar to Angry Birds such that you control the angle and velocity of the shot. The controls work well for precise accuracy. And the courses are extremely fun! Levels are challenging yet satisfying, and never get boring.

Presentation: 4/5

Super Golf Land looks polished and professional, but it doesn’t break any bounds in terms of visuals. The music goes well with the game.

Lasting Value: 4/5

The main game should last you just over 2 hours to play through. After that, you can go for scoring all three stars on each level, or play the mini-games which open up another set of challenges and more fun!
