Apple is reportedly going to release a new version of its Apple Store app for iOS devices. The new app is said to have user interface similar to that of the company’s iBookstore and iTunes Store apps.
This new app is expected to release on July 23rd. Recently we heard rumors that Apple CEO Tim Cook wants the company to sell more iPhones through its retail channels. Of the many methods that were discussed at a recent discreet meeting, the new app is said to be one of them. It is believed that for a limited time Apple will offer free iBookstore and iTunes store content through the Apple Store app.
Tim Cook reportedly said at the meeting that less than 20 percent of all their customers know that the Apple Store app exists. This is why it is being reported that from now own, Apple retail store employees will be encouraged to install this app on new iOS devices that they sell. The app will provide users with direct access to Apple’s sales channel, and ultimately end up driving sales for the company through its own channel as opposed to through various retailers, though those are essential for the business as well.
