Game Review: Drift Mania Championship 2

Game Review: Drift Mania Championship 2

Rack up those drift points in this arcade drift-style game.

Overall Score: 5/5

Excellent lasting value and great visuals make this racing game a must-buy!

Gameplay: 5/5

Drift Mania is quite fun. The premise of the game is to drift your ride as long as possible through the track to rack up drift points and score combos. There are 12 different tracks, each providing great variety. In terms of the driving, the game isn’t very realistic. However, if they made it more realistic then nearly everyone would find it way too frustrating to hold a quality drift. Various goals challenge your skills, and tournament mode even puts you up against a competitor on the same track. Tilt controls feel great, but there is also a steering wheel option.

Presentation: 5/5

This game looks excellent! The frame rate is butter smooth, letting you play the game with ease. The visuals are crisp and high quality. The sound effects are great; you can even hear turbos kicking in. The music soundtrack fits with the game but could become a little repetitive (P.S… there’s an option to turn it off)

Lasting Value: 5/5

If you’re at my skill level, it would take probably 6 hours to unlock all of the tracks. I spent 30 minutes on levels trying to accomplish the 35,000 point drift combo required to unlock the next track! Plus there’s a tournament mode where you can race against an opponent. There is online multiplayer, but I never got it to work. Nevertheless, the lasting value is stellar.QRCode
