The iPhone 5C, Apple’s rumored cheap iPhone, has come to life thanks to concept photos that showcase what a cheaper iPhone, and its packaging, might look like should it arrive later in the year.
Rumors suggest that Apple may announce a new, cheaper iPhone alongside the flagship iPhone 5S. That device, which has come to be known as iPhone 5C, is rumored to be a cheap, plastic version of the iPhone that would come with a cheaper price tag than the usual $199.99 iPhone price. While rumors still haven’t nailed down all of the details, designers are already coming up with their own ideas for Apple’s plastic iPhone.
Martin Hajek, a noted designer that Gotta Be Mobile has worked with in the past, has shared his own iPhone 5C concept that is packed with extraordinary detail and brings the rumored plastic iPhone to life.
The photos depict the possible packaging for a cheap plastic iPhone and they also offer a glimpse at what Hadjek thinks the iPhone 5C could look like if launched later this year. Rumors have suggested that the device will sport a cheap design that is backed by several color options and here, we see a teal and white versions of the iPhone 5C.
While Hajek’s device is only a concept, it appears to be heavily based on rumors and leaks that have emerged in recent weeks. Rumors insist that Apple has a a cheaper iPhone model up its sleeve that it will be coming with a polycarbonate rear case in at least five different colors. The device would allow Apple to compliment the more expensive iPhone, in at least some markets, by offering a price tag that is considerably lower than the flagship iPhone 5S’.
The iPhone 5S is expected to feature premium build materials that mirror the iPhone 5′s. Instead of plastic, Apple’s iPhone 5 utilizes anodized aluminum and metal, the first time that Apple has used this type of combination with its iconic iPhone.
Apple’s iPhone 5C on the other hand would not be the first iPhone to feature a plastic design as Apple used a plastic casing for the iPhone 3GS, its former flagship that debuted back in 2009.
Neither product has been confirmed for launch but rumors suggest that Apple could announce both products sometime in September.
