Leak saga goes on: Nokia EOS aka Lumia 1020 back plate image confirms 41-megapixel camera

If there ever was an award for most leaked device, the Nokia EOS, aka Nokia Elvis, aka Nokia Lumia 1020, aka Nokia’s camera superphone, would definitely snatch it. We’ve seen it all from all sides, and the leaks just won’t stop days ahead of the official unveiling pegged for July 11th.

Infamous leaker @evleaks is at the center of the whole leak affair and just keeps on teasing. After releasing what looks like a press render of the front of the device, we now get to see the back and it’s just what we’ve seen before - a huge circular cutout for the camera and both a Xenon and LED flash.

This setup definitely seems interesting. If true, that would mean that Nokia would rely on the Xenon flash for well-lit images, and the LED flash light could fire up to reduce red eye effect in images.

The most important piece however is not the flash, it is the number 41 engraved on the back of the NokiaLumia 1020. It’s an obvious indication that the phone features a 41-megapixel camera. That’s the same impressive number of megapixels we saw on the Nokia 808 PureView, and should translate into lossless zoom capabilities and simply outstanding images, beating all other smartphones.
