Lenovo is about to join the Snapdragon 800 bandwagon, as new details emerge about a device codenamed the K6 that utilizes Qualcomm’s latest SoC.
At this time, not a lot is known about the K6 other than the fact that the K6 will likely feature the Snapdragon 800 SoC that includes a quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU along with an Adreno 330 GPU which clocks at 450 MHz .
Other hardware features known at this stage include a 5-inch full-HD screen, and from the images, the device looks to be styled in a similar fashion as the current-gen mobiles in the Lenovo S800 series. A notable addition in the Lenovo K6 is in the form of a dual-SIM card slot.
Other major manufacturers are already at work trying to get their Snapdragon 800 devices in the market by the end of the year, and it looks like Lenovo is also going to join the fray. Until now, Lenovo has enjoyed success in the Chinese mobile arena, but is a relative newcomer in the global market. With the addition of a device like the K6, that could change.
