Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Price Emerges, And It’s Expensive

The first rumored Samsung Galaxy S4 Miniprice has emerged today with the price, at least in Russia, pegged as being about half the cost of the larger Samsung Galaxy S4.
Earlier this week, Samsung announced the new Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. In the announcement, the company detailed many of its features including its 4.3-inch qHD display, dual-core processor, 8MP camera, plastic design and more. It will also be coming with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and at least some of Samsung’s new TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0.

The Galaxy S4 Mini is expensive in Russia. And could be expensive elsewhere too.

However, the company remained mum on many of the specifics including its specific release date and its price, leaving consumers wondering when they might be able to buy it and for how much. Yesterday, we learned that at least one retailer in the United Kingdom will be offering it during the month of July, the same month that was rumored many weeks ago. And today, we finally have our first price, with Hi-Tech Mail, a Russian language website, leaking a potential price tag for the Galaxy S4 Mini. At least in Russia.
Evidently, the Galaxy S4 Mini will hit Russia for about 19,990 Russian rubles which is the equivalent of $630 in the United States. That is about half the cost of the Samsung Galaxy S4 in Russia which stands at 29 990 rubles. Prices around the world may not mimic the Russian price exactly, Russian smartphones tend to be more expensive than they are in other regions, but this is a sign that we could see the Galaxy S4 Mini arrive for half the cost of the Galaxy S4 elsewhere.

A $99 price tag in the U.S., the Galaxy S4 is $199.99 at most carriers, wouldn’t be exorbitant but for what the Galaxy S4 Mini is, that’s a fairly expensive asking price, particularly when the Galaxy S3 is priced the same and possesses better features. . Many consumers were likely hoping to see the device check in for $50 or below and while that’s still possible, the emergence of this price tag complicates things a bit.
Thus far, we haven’t seen any U.S. carriers put their weight behind the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, so there is no telling whether it will be coming to the U.S. or not, but if and when it does, it could come with a price tag that’s perceived as expensive. In Russia, it’s looking like it will definitely be expensive.
