Sony promises to fix bricked PS3 consoles with firmware update next week

With the latest Sony PS3 firmware update having caused more harm than good, the company rapidly scrambled a message out that the next firmware update scheduled for next week will fix all issues, including the bricked PS3 consoles.Sony PS3 firmware updateSony outed a PS3 firmware update last week that pushed the version up to 4.45. Little did a few owners know that this new update will brick their PS3 console and make it unusable. Thankfully, the company has released a statement saying that an update will be pushed out on the 27th of June that will fix all issues with the previous update, including the bricked systems.
“We have identified the issue related to the PlayStation 3 software update (version 4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week. A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience.”
To the owners of the small percentage of PS3 consoles which got bricked, hold on tight folks, the update is coming. Sadly, the wait will be 6 (whole) days long, taking the total number of days for the ailing up to 9.
