Proclaiming itself as the world’s thinnest Windows 8 hybrid, the Asus Transformer Book TX300 made an entry into India today, slapped with a retail value of Rs 91,999. Bearing a 13.3-inch screen, this Asus notebook features a detachable screen, thus doubling up as a tablet. It runs on the Pro version of the Windows 8 OS, and grabs hold of a third generation Intel Core processor which toils to perform its operations.
The full HD screen of this machine features on it an IPS touch panel which helps it provide viewing angles of up to 178 degrees. Its portable design has been inspired from the company’s Zenbook product, thus featuring a sleek profile and metal-based materials. The Asus Transformer Book TX300 gains steam from an IntelCore i5 processor, while it also features separate storage for the notebook and the tablet. This setup includes a 500GB hard drive and a 128GB SSD.
Intel HD 4000 graphics, which we had also seen on the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 recently, find their way into the hybrid as well, making it fit for gaming enthusiasts. Furthermore, 4GB of DDR3 RAM can be found on it, apart from connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. Two cameras have been fitted onto the device. While the front has been blessed with an HD shooter, the rear grabs hold of a 5MP camera. Two batteries provide the necessary juice to the notebook and the tablet.
Furthermore, a host of advanced technologies have also been infused into the hybrid. Its SonicMaster feature enhances its sound output, whereas its MaxxAudio trait proffers a full control EQ for movies, music and games. And it has even been revealed that this device bears up to two weeks’ worth of standby time in notebook mode.
The exact release date of the Transformer Book TX300 hasn’t been mentioned as yet, but it has been disclosed that it will be made available in the second week of July at Rs 91,999.
