American manufacturer BLU is all set to enter the Indian market in the coming months, and will launch around 20 models in the country by the end of the year.
BLU has garnered quite a name over the last year for its low-cost unlocked devices that run on Android. The Florida-based manufacturer has been in the limelight ever since they launched the BLU Life One, which comes with a 5-inch screen, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 13 megapixels camera, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM and a 2000 mAh battery.
The Life One is available for just $229, which is quite a bargain considering its feature set. In fact,, Micromax, one of the leading mobile manufacturers in India, launched its latest flagship the Canvas 4 earlier this week which is nothing more than a rebranded BLU Life One.
BLU is set to make its entire catalogue of mobiles to India, which includes devices like the Quattro that includes NVIDIA’s Tegra 3, the Vivo, and the rugged BLU Tank that is certified IP67 water and dust proof.
However, the American manufacturer is not going to focus only on the budget Android market as it will also launch a few feature phones to target the likes of Nokia Asha 501 and Samsung’s Galaxy Star.
AndroidGuruz has been confirmed as the distributor for BLU in India, and they have mentioned that they intend to launch the first device in August. They currently have a store in Delhi and are targeting 200 stores throughout the country by the end of the year.
