new pics of Xiaomi Mi3, Red Rice and MiPad surface

Busy is just one way to describe Xiaomi, as the Chinese OEM is said to be working hard on at least two new phones, plus its first ever tablet. And while the launches of the Mi3, Red Rice and MiPad might still be a while, the trio sure knows how to keep us interested.

All three devices have been captured on camera by Weibo user Punkpanda mere hours ago following a Mi3 leak from yesterday and a number of recent reports relating to the MiPad. But the big question is this – are the gadgets spied on by Punkpanda what the tipster claims them to be?
No way to know for sure, but they do look legit at a first glance. The alleged MiPad is shown next to an Apple iPad Mini, which seems to confirm Xiaomi’s tab will measure around 7 inches in diagonal.

Sadly, due to the poor quality of this pic, there’s not much else we can say about the slate’s design, other than the chassis appears to be made of plastic and there’s a snazzy red “Mi” logo on the back.
Remember, rumor has it the MiPad will cost a very modest 999 Yuan ($160) in China and pack quad-core power, courtesy of a brand new MediaTek processor, namely an 8125 unit.

Moving on to the photo starring the supposed two upcoming Xiaomi phones, this seems to debunk early rumors about Mi3’s display size. As you can clearly see, the handheld on the left (Mi3) is not much larger than the one on the right (Red Rice), so chances are Xiaomi’s next flagship will end up being a 5-incher.
The Red Rice should sport a 4.7-inch display (if not smaller), plus mostly mid-end features, though the specifics are hard to guess at this point. Meanwhile, the Mi3 should be able to take on all the high-end Androids of late 2013, with mind-blowing specs like 3 GB of RAM, Tegra 4 power, massive 3,500 mAh battery and 13 MP/5 MP dual cameras. Fingers crossed for all that to become reality, eh?
