Rumors have been swirling in regards to two additions to the HTC One family including a Galaxy Note 3 competitor called the HTC One Max and a smaller version of the HTC One dubbed HTC One Mini. While buyers will likely have to wait awhile for the arrival of the larger HTC One variant, the HTC One Mini release appears to be all but confirmed.
Over the past few months, HTC has been heavily rumored to be introducing two compliments to the current 4.7-inch HTC One. Whispering suggests that it has a 5.7-inch HTC One Max, also known as the HTC T6, up its sleeve for later on this year though given its specs which are said to include Android 5.0 and its likely target, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the HTC One Max isn’t expected to arrive for a bit.
And while that may be the case for the HTC One Max, the company does seem to be gearing up for another HTC One launch in the form of the HTC M4, also known as the HTC One Mini. The HTC One Mini, unlike the HTC One Max, has been rumored on numerous occasions and has even leaked out in several photos depicting its design.
In addition, several times, we’ve heard that the device will be coming out in August, with an announcement potentially coming sometime during the month of July.
Today, the hit-or-miss Digitimes has chimed in, saying that the HTC One Mini release will indeed be coming sometime in Q3 which is comprised of July, August and September. And with August already heavily rumored to be the HTC One Mini release month, it’s looking increasingly likely that we’ll see it arrive in the next few weeks.
As for its specifications, the device is thought to be a lesser version of the HTC One, though, it’s thought to have a similar metal design. Features are said to include a 4.7-inch 720p display, dual-core processor, Ultrapixel camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and yes, the new Sense 5 that won’t be coming to the HTC One S.
