A new report suggests that the Micromax Canvas 4 might actually be a rebranded Wiko Heaven Stairway. This goes against the previous reports that the Canvas 4 is nothing but a rebranded Blue Life One.
Micromax has been unreasonably tight-lipped with their yet-to-be-released Canvas 4 flagship, the next entry in the popular (sales wise) Canvas series of Android powered Smartphones. For those who are getting excited about the specifications, stop right there. The Vivo Heaven Stairway is nothing impressive. In fact, the 1.2 GHz MediaTek MT6589 chipset (ARM Cortex A7), 1 GB of RAM, 5-inch HD display are all specifications from 6-month old phones. HD is out, Full HD is in. 1 GB of RAM has been notched up to 2 GB and MediaTek has come with a more powerful MT6589T 1.5 GHz chipset.

With Micromax set to finally reveal the Canvas 4 hardware on the 8th of July, all rumors and speculations will finally be put to rest. We are more or less sure that all those who pre-ordered the device are in for a disappointment. I don’t think that the serial-phone-rebrand selling company can come up with anything in their defense, the Canvas HD is an equally enticing proposition for a much lesser price (as the Canvas 4 will end up costing about INR 17,000).
Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean is certainly welcome, so is the Gorilla Glass
Whatever you guys might still be having in your heads, know this, there’s no hope for this new phone in mine. A shame really, was actually considering picking up one.
