Update for Instagram brings landscape view to iOS app

Update for Instagram brings landscape view to iOS app
An update to the Instagram for iOS app brings a few changes including the ability for the UI to adjust to the phone being held in landscape mode. Before the update, you could have turned the phone on its side to take a picture, but the UI would not have adjusted. Now, if you're using the landscape mode, the screen will change orientation to make things a little easier. Additionally, taking a picture in landscape means that you have two hands on the phone, making for a steadier picture.

Another change to the app brings Cinema Mode to the front-facing camera. This is the feature used with Instagram video on iOS to help lessen any shaking while recording a video. Finally, the update offers the usual bug fixes and enhancements.

The update is not yet available for Android, but Cinema Mode isn't part of the Android version of the app anyway. Still, those toting a phone using Google's open source OS like to take videos and still shots in portrait mode too, so perhaps that part of the update will be made available for Android users as well, down the road.
