The ZTE U988S in red color had been leaked earlier. Basically, the ZTE U988S is the world’s first Tegra 4-powered device. Earlier today, more images of the ZTE U988S leaked again and the official name had been confirmed as well.
The real identity of ZTE U988S was unveiled as well. It is known as the ZTE Geek U988S. The international ZTE Geek is powered by Intel Atom processor while the ZTE Geek U988S is the ZTE Geek variant for China Mobile carrier.
The ZTE Geek U988S has indeed been the first Tegra 4 powered device. Its somehow late for the Tegra 4 to enter the smartphone market. The 4th generation Tegra announced in January but it takes seven months for the first device. Too long!
The ZTE Geek U988S comes with 5-inch 1080p display, 1.8GHz Tegra 4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixels camera on the back and 2-megapixels camera on the front. The first Tegra 4 device runs onAndroid 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
