Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Late to Android 4.2 Leak Party

It’s clear that Samsung is hard at work on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean updates for several of its big-name devices including the Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 8.0 and Galaxy Note 2, however, while the update has leaked for Galaxy S3 and now the Galaxy Note 8.0, the Galaxy Note 2 is late to the Android 4.2 leak party.
Samsung has yet to confirm Android 4.2 Jelly Bean updates for its older devices, instead, allowing leaks do the talking for it. Leaks have shown that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2 update will carry features from the Galaxy S4 and that it will be out sometime in the third quarter of this year, meaning, somewhere in between the months of July and September.

We still don’t have a target date for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update but it looks like Samsung is making progress, thanks to a leak from SamMobile that exposes the update in all of its glory.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 is one of the larger members of the Galaxy Note family and it looks like its Android 4.2 update is going to help with battery life and could help with speed. It’s not clear if this is the final version of the software but those looking to take the plunge early can now do so if they so choose. The leak is a sign that Samsung is hard at work on the update and it could mean that we see it relatively soon, given the polished nature of the update.
Those that aren’t adept at installing leaked official software should hold off on updating their Galaxy Note 8.0 with this firmware as it may be more trouble than it’s worth, even especially since a data wipe is necessary.
The Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.2 update, on the other hand, has not leaked.

This leaks means that we’ve now seen the Android 4.2 update leak for a Galaxy Note model, though, it’s not the Galaxy Note that many were hoping for. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 remains without an Android 4.2 Jelly Bean leak, leaving owners wondering when or what they can expect their first big Android update. Rumors suggest that the software will be out sometime in the third quarter as well though Samsung has yet to confirm anything.
Leak or not, it’s clear that Samsung is working to get Android 4.2 out to its older devices and it could be that we see it start with the Galaxy Note 8.0 and then move on to the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3.
