Resident Evil: Revelations HD debuts in first place

Resident Evil: Revelations HD has unseated Metro: Last Light at the top of the UK video games retail sales chart
Metro: Last Light has had its brief run at the top of the UK games chart brought to a halt by Resident Evil: Revelations HD.

Capcom's home console version of the superb Nintendo 3DS game has debuted in first place, pushing Deep Silver's shooter into second position.

Given that Revelations is a return to the roots of the survival-horror franchise, it may serve as a litmus test to see whether the genre is still viable on home consoles.
Elsewhere, the end of the football season has made little impact on FIFA 13's ability to hang onto third place, while Dead Island: Riptide staggers into fourth place.
The other new entry this week to crash into the top ten, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, debuts in fifth place.
The rest of the top  10 charts shapes up as follows:
1. Resident Evil: Revelations HD (new entry)
2. Metro: Last Light (ranked 1st last week)
3. FIFA 13 (ranked 3rd last week)
4. Dead Island: Riptide (ranked 2nd last week)
5. Donkey Kong Country Returns (new entry)
6. Assassin's Creed III (ranked 9th last week)
7. Tomb Raider (ranked 6th last week)
8. Far Cry 3 (ranked 11th last week)
9. Luigi's Mansion 2 (ranked 12th last week)
10. Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins (ranked 13th last week)
