Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Video Leaks

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, a rugged version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 broke cover again this week in a video detailing some of the specs and offering another look at the device.
We shared rugged Galaxy S4 Active photosyesterday, and today a new Galaxy S4 Active video shows off a closer look at the front of the device. The Galaxy S4 Active is a rugged version that is dust and water resistant, though we don’t know to what degree yet.
The video comes from MobileTechReview, a russian site that is known for securing Galaxy S4 news details and hands on ahead of the official releases.

In this short 40 second video we get a look at the Galaxy S4 Active front and a look at possible specs for the rugged version of the Galaxy S4.
While this may be a rugged Galaxy S4 on paper, it appears Samsung is dumbing down the features like we see on many rugged smartphones. According to MobileTechReview, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, which is a big step down from the Snapdragon 600 processor found in the U.S. version of the Galaxy S4. While many users may not car about the processor inside of the device, complaints of lagging performance thanks to TouchWiz on the Galaxy S4 could point to forthcoming issues on the Galaxy S4 Active.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active reportedly features an 8MP rear facing camera, a step down from the Galaxy S4′s 13MP rear-facing shooter. The camera will reportedly include the many software enhancements found on the flagship version of the Galaxy S4.

Thankfully the 5-inch 1080P Super AMOLED HD display appears to be on board. The display should offer glove-friendly features like the original Galaxy S4, and it appears to feature physical buttons along the bottom which is also a nice touch for users who need to wear gloves while working. These features which will help it compete with the Sony Xperia Z, which also includes waterproof and dustproof features.
In the video we see Samsung TouchWiz on the device, which is good to see, as long as the processor can handle it. It appears that all the sensors are on board to take advantage of the eye and motion control features of the Galaxy S4.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active may arrive on AT&T in the U.S., though no official word is available on the device. One rumor points to a Galaxy S4 Active release in the middle of July, though this is likely an international release rather than one for AT&T or another U.S. carrier
