First Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Gameplay Video

Today at its E3 press conference, Ubisoft showed not one, but two trailers for the new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, including the first gameplay footage of the new action game.
Assassin’s Creed IV puts players in the role of a pirate by the name of Edward Kenway (grandfather to Connor of Assassin’s Creed III). Kenway travels between Havana, Kingston and Nassau in search of his targets, loot and many piratical adventures. Along the way he’ll meet up with famous pirates like Blackbeard and Anne Bonny.

The first trailer of the game shows Edward Kenway minding his own business in a Caribbean bar, as pirates are wont to do. When a few soldiers walk into the bar, the pirates initiate a fight which sees many men stabbed and bottles broken, all with fantastically realistic graphics.
The second part of the cinematic trailer shows the ship vs. ship combat in Assassin’s Creed IV which proved so popular in the previous installment of the series. Kenway starts by commanding his ship to attack his enemy with a hail of cannonballs before bringing his ship alongside and boarding the enemy vessel. The scene is something players can theoretically recreate in the game, albeit with lesser graphics.

Ubisoft’s second Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag trailer shows the first gameplay of the assassin game. It shows Kenway fighting enemy solders, captaining his ship and running around the towns of the game. The trailer even shows the whales that will inhabit the waters of the Caribbean in the game.
Gamers who are interested in such things can hunt the whales in the game. Or they can choose to search the seas for sunken shipwrecks or travel across the islands searching through ancient Mayan temples.
Assassin’s Creed IV promises to be the biggest game in the series yet when it comes out this October on Xbox 360, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game will also come to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when those consoles release later on this year.
