Low cost NFC enabled Sony Xperia M to cost about 20K in India

The low cost Sony Xperia M sporting ‘one touch share’ NFC feature and a body like the Xperia Z, will be coming in Quarter 3 of this year. The phone has arrived in Germany and UK and has been spotted at few stores.

In UK the phone in single-SIM variant will cost about GBP 277.99. This would mean the pone will cost about Rs. 25000 in Indian currency in the UK (at GBP 1 = INR 90). IN Germany the single SIM variant is priced at Euro 239, which will come to about Rs. 18500 in Indian currency (at Euro 1= INR 76.9).

By the time which the Sony phone ‘low cost NFC enabled’ phones will come in India, India will see low cost Micromax Canvas 4, gesture recognition featuring Lava phone, at least two three Canvas 4 competitors from Indian mobile manufacturer. Galaxy Mega, HTC Mini and Nokia low cost Asha 501 are also expected in quarter 3. 4-inch Xperia M will find it difficult to struggle with sub 15K 5-inch phones with awesome camera. Micromax Canvas 4 will sport 13 megapixel camera, Lava IRIS 504Q will sport 8 megapixel shooter with wave and capture feature. Galaxy Mega offers a wide screen experience and 8 megapixel camera in 30K, HTC Mini like the elder brother will sport a stunningly beautiful metallic look.

Even at low cost the Sony Xperia M will compete with a few awesome phones, and we don’t think Sony will go for a Rs. 25K pricing for the Xperia M, as it will reduce its chances of registering a great sales figure in Indian market.

The 4-incher have been spotted at Infibeam already with a ‘coming soon’ tag.
