Priced Rs 9.06 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi, the new Skoda car offers you special features, with the same engine and transmission options. The new features include leather seat covers, rear parking sensors, door sills, and a portable navigation system. To be offered on top of the line Elegance variant, Rapid Leisure will be available in 1.6l petrol MT, 1.6l petrol AT, and 1.6L diesel MT. The price mentioned above, is that of Rapid Leisure 1.6l petrol MT, about Rs 70,000 more than the regular topend variant.
UPDATE: Skoda India has sent yet another release, saying that the earlier one was wrong. In the new release, they say that the Leisure edition will be offered on their Ambition variant, and price starts from Rs 7.79 lakh, ex-Delhi for the base 1.6l petrol MT. This is about Rs 36,000 more than the regular Ambition variants. Same is the price difference for 1.6l petrol AT Ambition and 1.6l diesel MT Ambition when compared with their respective Leisure Special Limited Edition. Price is as follows: 1.6 MPI manual – Rs. 7,79,352, 1.6 MPI automatic – Rs. 8,79,625, 1.6 TDI manual – Rs. 9,06,926.
Apart from this, Skoda India is also gearing up with the big launch of 2013 Octavia sedan. Expected to arrive before Diwali this year, new Octavia will be offered in a choice of two engines, 1.8 liter TSI turbo petrol engine and a 2 liter TDI turbo diesel offering 180 Bhp / 250 Nm torque and 150 Bhp / 320 Nm torque respectively. Transmission options include 6 speed manual or the 7 speed DSG automatic transmission. Price is expected to be in the Rs 14.5 to 18 lakh range.
