Sydience announced today that its popular Windows Phone app, WebApps, has been updated to version 1.4 with support for Live Tiles, voice search and wide tiles.
WebApps is the best way to discover mobile websites, pin them as beautiful live tiles to your Start screen and enjoy them in a seamless full-screen experience.
WebApps 1.4 introduces support for Live Tile updates for many popular web apps; wide tiles for featuring the latest content from your favourite web apps; voice search for simpler access to new web apps and a raft of performance improvements and bug fixes.
The Live Tiles upgrade lets you pin tiles to your Start screen that flip to reveal interesting content such as news headlines and images from many of the web apps available in the curated catalogue. Support for wide tiles allows you to showcase your favourite web apps and provides the perfect canvas for rich Live Tile updates.
Voice search, powered by Tellme, also debuts in this latest release allowing you to dictate your search queries for easier and faster access to the diverse catalogue of web apps.
WebApps continues to let you get the most out of your Windows Phone. Battery life is responsibly conserved through the use of push updates, powered by the Windows Azure cloud, and with web apps you won’t use up precious storage space every time you want to try something new.
The community is encouraged to contribute to WebApps by suggesting and voting for new features at sydience.uservoice.com or by getting in touch with Sydience to volunteer new translations.
WebApps 1.4 is available for immediate download from the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace and Windows Phone 8 Store. Access to the Live Tiles feature will be available via the in-app upgrades within the next 3 days. Users who purchase or have already purchased the “Pro Pack” will receive the Live Tiles feature at no extra charge.
