Huawei is a company that has no problems releasing devices for just about every possible niche in existence and this time they are trying to cover the budget tablet market and go head to head with Apple and Asus.
Huawei’s newly announced MediaPad 7 Vogue looks to go head to head with the Nexus 7 and other cheap offerings from Asus as well as the iPad mini itself in the lower-cost tablet market. Lets not waste any time and get straight to the juicy stuff, the specifications:
- 7″ display with a resolution of 1024×600
- 1.2 GHz quad-core processor
- 1GB of RAM
- 8GB internal storage (micro SD support)
- 3 megapixel rear camera and 0.3 front camera
- Android version 4.1 (under Huawei’s Emotion UI skin)
The other bit of news is that there will be a 3G and a Wi-Fi version of the device. You will be able to make phone calls with it, hopefully using a bluetooth headset or mic of some sort so you don’t end up holding it next to your head.
The pricing for the tablet hasn’t been revealed just yet but with the specs not being terribly impressive it would be nice if the price reflected that. The MediaPad 7 Vogue will be available in black and white in China later this month with the possibility of other markets at a later date. Stay tuned for more information.
