Huawei to Launch Windows Phone 8 Ascend in August At Rs 10,000Chinese major tech firm Huawei, who recently launched its much awaited Ascend Mate in the Indian market at a price of Rs 24,990; now seems to have big plans for the Indian market. After launching a series of Android handsets, the company is prepping to launch a Windows Phone handset in India very soon. Click Here For New Huawei Gadgets Photos Gallery At the official launch event, Victor Shan, President, India Device Business Department told GizBot that the company could announce an affordable Windows Phone (most probably, WP8) running handset in the Indian market by August 2013. The head official also disclosed that the Windows Phone handset will be priced attractively at Rs. 10,000. However, for obvious reasons, Mr. Shan did not disclose the internal specifications or the name of the handset. But if we are not wrong, possibilities are that Huawei might launch Ascend W1 in India, which was announced earlier this year at CES 2013. On this, GizBot confirmed the same from the official, asking whether the device shares any similarity to Ascend W1 in terms of specifications? Victor Shan told GizBot that "the phone would be better than W1." Huawei Ascend W1 debuted as a Windows Phone 8 device sporting a 4-inch WVGA 800×480 IPS display, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor with 512MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera, 4GB of storage onboard, and a microSD slot, HSPA+ and 1,950mAh Li-Po battery. Going by the trend in the current market, everyday more than 1 million Android devices are activated around the world. Google's Android OS is indeed one of the preferred choices for device makers as well for consumers. It has a better eco-system and most importantly it's open. But Microsoft Windows Phone 8 (WP8) is gradually causing ripples in the waves. The Finnish giant Nokia shifted to Windows from Symbian back in 2011. Apart from Nokia, there are other tech vendors who make devices running Windows Phone 8 (WP8). Samsung, Huawei, ZTE are some of the privileged vendors working closely with Redmond-based software giant. Initially, Windows powered handset struggled due to added cost. On the other hand, Android devices are lot cheaper to make due to Google's open policy. But now it seems, the scenario has changed beginning with Nokia's much talked phone - Lumia 520. According to Nokia, the handset is selling like hot cakes in the Indian market. The real reason why Nokia Lumia 520 is so popular is its affordable price
