Lytro releases app for iOS

A Lytro camera is able to refocus an image after it is captured digitally, allowing you to change the focal point of the photograph. With the app, you can save these images to your Apple iPhone, Apple iPod touch or Apple iPad instead of your desktop computer. You can edit the images on your iOS device and if not happy with the changes, revert back to the original picture. Animated GIFs can also be produced through the app.

With the iOS app, Lytro users can share their photos to others via email, SMS or through social networks. The app connects to the Lytro camera, also using Wi-Fi. The $399 Lytro camera is shipped with a dormant Wi-Fi chip that can be awoken via an update.

The app has just been published on the Apple App Store and debuted on Wednesday. It requires the use ofiOS 6.1 or higher and is a free download. If you own a Lytro camera and an iOS device, you have no excuse not to install this now.
