Thanks to iOS 7, you can now zoom in while recording a video

A couple of new features related to taking videos using iOS 7 have just been discovered. Neither one has been promoted by Apple, but both are features that could come in handy. One gives you a way to zoom in while you're shooting a video, although it does require you to pinch-to-zoom while recording. Or, you can tap-to-focus on your closeup as you zoom. Zooming out requires that you pinch out on the screen, or use the slider at the bottom of the screen. For some reason, this capability wasn't even mentioned on the iOS 7 features web page.

Another new but unheralded feature allows you to take a still picture while in the midst of capturing a video. To do that, all you need to do is tap the white button on the bottom of the screen while recording a video. The still pictures go right to your picture roll and you can take as many pictures as possible and still tap-to-focus or zoom in at the same time.

Take a look at the video below to check out the zooming capabilities on iOS 7. And we also have a still picture for you to look at, which was snapped while a video was being recorded.
