Citrix Receiver and Citrix XenMobile coming to Windows Phone

wp_ss_20130627_0001-614x1024
It seems Windows Phone is on a roll, with many important apps finally making it to the platform.
The latest, and long sought after, is Citrix Receiver,  which allows users to remotely control and access their corporate PC from anywhere. The app was actually announced in May at CintrixSynergy but we now finally have a time scale for the roll-out of the app.
Also for the BYOD market, Citrix is set to release XenMobile 8.5 for Windows Phone, which is a device management service which allows IT to help users configure Exchange email accounts, install enterprise certificates, and set device passcode and storage policies when they enrol their devices.
It also configures an enterprise app store, a new application called Worx Home for Windows Phone 8 where users can go to find and install recommended enterprise and Windows Store applications.
These apps are actually private app stores, and the apps do not need to be seen or certified my Microsoft.
When  users change roles, these apps and setting can selectively be removed without impacting personal apps and data. If the device is lost is can still be completely remote wiped.
It seems Windows Phone will soon have a pretty comprehensive package, and we hope the enterprise apps needed to make Windows Phones in business more useful will also soon follow.
