GTA V gameplay reveal trailer was running on PS3

GTA V
Yesterday was a big day for Rockstar Games–and for hardcore GTA fans all across the world–with the official debut of Grand Theft Auto V’s very first gameplay reveal trailer.
The footage itself is five minutes of glorious GTA action that includes an introduction/walkthrough of various locales in Los Santos, and it also highlighted and showcased many of the game’s impressive gameplay features; from combat to miscellaneous hobbies like playing tennis and everything in between.
Additionally Rockstar Games has recently revealed that the massively popular trailer was compiled of recorded footage taken right from a play session via PS3:
“Just to clarify for those asking, this particular video was captured with footage from the PS3 version of the game.”
This tidbit says a lot in itself and goes to show just how far Rockstar Games has pushed the current generation of consoles, as the trailer was comprised of superior graphical fidelity and featured many surprising and impressive elements–many of which adequately represented the game itself and furthered the already rapacious anticipation in the gaming sphere.

At the moment the trailer has over seven and a half million views on YouTube which were gained in a single day, and the numbers are still growing as time goes by. The official newspost on Rockstar’s mainsite has garnered over six thousand comments, many of which were clamoring for an official answer as to what platform the footage was captured under–an inquiry which prompted Rockstar’s response.
Rockstar has also answered a few interesting questions in their recent Asked and Answered session, which was dedicated solely to GTA V. The Q&A features questions picked right from the community, with full-on answers straight from GTA V devs.
In case you haven’t seen the trailer yet be sure to check it out below, and the footage itself has been taken apart and analyzed by hundreds of gamesites and fans across the world who eagerly analyze and interpret every little piece. One thing’s for sure, though: this is by far one of the most ambitious and anticipated titles under Rockstar’s belt, and it looks to be one of the major defining releases not only in the series but of the entire sandbox genre.
Grand Theft Auto V is slated to release on Sept. 17, 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. For more information please visit the game’s official website.
