Gionee, a Chinese smartphone brand, has announced its new flagship smartphone, called E-Life E6. The phone uses world's first White OGS (one glass solution) display and has just a 2.54 mm narrow bezel and is 7.7mm thin. This reduces the overall size of the phone even though it gets a 5 inch full HD display with 441 ppi pixel density - one of the highest in the industry. It weighs only 128 grams.
Gionee E-Life E6 is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM and 31 GB of onboard memory. It comes with a non-removable 2020 mAh battery. E-Life E6 has a 13 megapixel rear camera with BIS (Backside illumination technology) sensor for better low light photography and 5 megapixel front-facing camera. Gionee also claims that it has modified Android ROM software to allow users quickly and easily capture high quality images and videos. Gionee has designed the phone with flat sides so that the phone can be kept standing on any flat surface to take group shots. The camera also supports panorama, HDR etc.
Gionee E-Life E6 has DTS 3D stereo surround with speakers placed on the sides of the phone instead at the back. It also has dual mic for noise cancellation. Gionee has also tweaked the user interface of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and allows users to answer phones by directly raising it up to their ears; they can also use this action to call and then using voice commands to dial. It also detects motion of head and play/pauses a video and will automatically turn the alarm into snooze mode when the phone is flipped.
The Gionee ELife E6 has been launched in China priced for around Rs 26,000. The phone is to be made available in India starting first week of August.
The phone is undoubtedly packed with latest mobile technology and looks like a very powerful phone on paper. And in that sense the Price tag of Rs 26,000 is very well justified.
