City Transport – A Public Transport Information for Your City

City Transport AppCity Transport App
City Transport is not only public transport information app but it is a good friend for travellers, city guests, and foreign students. Besides the basic options such as browsing nearest stops, timetable and routes, this app has a unique notification feature which tells to passenger when he/she approaches to the destination stop. Most of you were in situation when you ride in a bus to somewhere you have never been before (even in your own city) and were uncertain in exact location of your stop. This app deals well with this situation. Once you hoped on a bus or other carriage in your city, you set your destination stop either by route number either by location and then it starts tracking your movement. While tracking it shows your current location on the map and how many stops left until your destination. If you don’t mind about continuous tracking of yourself you can put it away or switch to another app, and you’ll be notified about approaching to your destination in one stop before so that you’ll have a time to be ready to leave. You can also set a voice notification so you won’t miss it even if you listen music or sleep.
City Transport helpful for the city residents as well. The most frequent scenario is browsing timetable of your stop before leaving a home. There is also a search option which allows you to search by route, stop, address and POI. All information provides by transport authorities of your city / region. This data stores locally on your phone so it is always available and saves your traffic. Paid version enables favorites option to store frequently used stops near your fingers. Once saved, you can pin it to the start screen and access its timetable in one touch.
City Transport uses open data of more than 65 cities worldwide. Most available regions are Australia, USA, Canada and Europe countries. Number of cities constantly increases, and this list has the latest update. Application has a trial version that allows you to check whether your city available or not. If you haven’t found your region you can request it right via the app and once the database released you’ll be notified about it. Unfortunately not all transport companies publish their data, so there is a chance to not get your city at all.
Along with the said above, this app has a user friendly interface with intuitive navigation and lightweight modern style. App available for Windows Phone 8 only due to offline HERE maps and tracking in background. Its price is $1.5 with a free trial version.
