LG’s upcoming flagship, packing the mighty Snapdragon 800 SoC, couldn’t resist topping the benchmark charts. The new phone might be launched in the upcoming August 7 event by LG.
If every OEM is working on a Snapdragon 800 based device, why wouldn’t LG be doing the same. An unannounced phone, made by LG and bearing the codename LG-F320, made an appearance on the AnTuTu benchmark website. What caught our attention is the score, which puts it ahead of the recently announced Galaxy S4 LTE-A which also happens to pack a Snapdragon 800 SoC.
According to us, the leaked benchmark belongs to the upcoming LG Optimus G2 (name not final) Smartphone. Earlier reports say that the phone will be announced by LG on the 7th of August, so we are still over a month away from a possible launch of the next Optimus branded flagship. The AnTuTu score of the device, most likely still running early software, is at 32,002 points, putting it ahead of the 31,491 scored by the Galaxy S4 LTE-A.
Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen a number of leaked images that we all believe to be the Optimus G2. Some of the rumored features include a 1080p display, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, a 13 MP camera and an innovative and new feature, volume rocker buttons on the back of the phone (we’d love to see how that works out).
Source GSM Insider believes that the device could also be the rumored Nexus 5 Smartphone, which we know for sure is being built by LG. It’s possible, but nothing can be confirmed as of now. Me? Personally, I’d love to see a powerful Nexus 5 that does the Nexus 4 right (if there’s no SD card, then at least have the balls brains to put more than 8 GB of internal storage).
