According to recent reports via a NeoGAF forum thread, a promo picture was found that may have revealed the official release date of Nintendo’s Mario Kart 8–the promo mentions a release window of April 2014 for the Wii U console.
The promo was made public via a Tweet from @DeSero, and a copy of the apparently official promo can be found below:
The promo apparently came by the way of an accidental slip-up in a European e-mail newsletter, and the April 2014 date fits loosely in line with the “Spring 2014″ release window for Mario Kart 8 announced by Nintendo. While we already knew that Mario Kart 8 would miss a 2013 release–the Wii U will be held up by titles like Pikmen 3, Super Mario 3D World and others–it will be interesting to see if Nintendo responds to this apparent reveal.

Mario Kart 8 will feature a massive character selection screen with many familiar and iconic faces from Nintendo’s flagship franchise, and also has a smattering of new maps, vehicles, and more. Mario Kart has always been one of Nintendo’s profitable series; Mario Kart for Nintendo’s previous Wii console has been a best-seller for Nintendo, selling over 30 million units worldwide.
