Google Hangouts gets update for iOS version

Version 1.1.1 of Google Hangouts for iOS is now available from iTunes and adds clickable links in messages, in-app sound notifications and the ability to invite your friends to a Hangout by sending them an SMS message. The app now has support for iOS 6 and a problem that was screwing around with badge counts has been repaired. The official changelist also notes that the update addresses "network connection bar weirdness". Ah yes, the dreaded network connection barweirdness has been taken care of.

Now that those problems have been resolved, Google Hangouts for iOS allows you to set up a video chat for up to 10 users at one time. And because conversations stay in sync across devices, you can start the conversation with your Apple iPhone in the morning, and switch to your Apple iPad once back home after a hard day at work. And with over 100 emoji to choose from, you can bare your soul to those hanging out with you.

Google Hangouts is a free download, and if you already have it installed, no doubt your update is awaiting your attention.
