The two words echoed through the hallways at Samsung's U.S. headquarters: "ROAD TRIP!" Samsung is going on the road this summer to host two-day events called Mobile App Academy. The Korean based tech titan is looking for STEM students (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) who might have the next great app idea.
The Mobile App Academy will be held at six different locations for 11th and 12th grade students. The best concept for an app will win that student a scholarship for $20,000. Second and third place winners receive a $10,000 and $5,000 scholarship respectively. The top three finishers plus an additional two runners up, will each receive a brand spanking new Samsung Galaxy S4. Those who just show up will receive a free Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. Sweet!
As it turns out, registrations for this year are closed, but you can click on the sourcelink to get information for 2014. And if you are a teacher, Samsung offers teacher materials and lesson plans. We wonder if any of that material is about patent law.
