Nokia, in conjunction with DX/GPAD Original Productions, has launched a very interested app exclusively for Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 users.
Titled JobLens, it’s a combination job-finding and personal profile app that borrows a lot of ideas from other services but implements them together in a truly satisfying way. Users can search for jobs in well-known databases like LinkedIn, Indeed, Twitter, Facebook, and even Windows Live, filtering based on category and area.
You can also store your resume in the cloud, though it’s not possible to upload an existing one — you have to create one using the basic tools provided.
Users can also apply to jobs directly from the app, or request friends or family members to get in touch with hiring managers if they are connected to a specific company.
There are more generalized areas of JobLens, too: users can stay informed on specific jobs and their skill needs, expectations and salary ranges, along with the kinds of jobs available in certain areas.
It also connects with HERE Maps and CityLens to provide an augmented reality view of where an interview would be and how to get there.
LinkedIn accounts are encouraged, in order to populate the database, but Facebook and Twitter are also available as sources.
