HTC One X Android 4.2 & Sense 5 Update: Signs Point to Summer Release

The HTC One X Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update, which is expected to bring the new Sense 5 as well, has again been pegged for release by the end of summer meaning all signs are now pointing to a release by the end of August, despite HTC not releasing information or confirming the HTC One X Android 4.2 update.
Earlier this year, around the time HTC announced the new HTC One and Sense 5, HTC confirmed the new Sense 5 for the HTC One X, last year’s flagship release. The company neglected to offer a specific release date only saying that features from the new Sense 5 would be making it to HTC One X owners. While HTC hasn’t confirmed it, unofficial information suggests that HTC will deliver Sense 5 with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android.
And while HTC has yet to confirm Android 4.2 Jelly Bean or timing for Sense 5, all signs are currently pointing to a release at some point this summer, possibly as soon as July, and almost certainly by the end of August.
Earlier this week, we learned that French carrier SFR is expecting to roll out the HTC One X Android 4.2 update at some point in July. If true, that likely means that an unbranded HTC One X Android 4.2 update and thus, Sense 5, could be rolling out in early to mid July. Carriers are typically behind unbranded devices when it comes to timing.
Today, HTC developer and leakster, @LlabTooFeR has chimed in again, backing up that rumored summer release claiming that the HTC One X Android 4.2 and Sense 5 update will be rolling out by the end of summer. That falls in line with that we’ve heard all along and that means summer is looking great for a HTC One X Android 4.2 and Sense 5 roll out.
Of course, plans can change and delays can happen so until HTC announces something or rolls out an update, it’s impossible to say if summer is the real deal.
However, given all of the rumors, it’s looking increasingly likely that HTC is going to roll out Android 4.2 and Sense 5 for the HTC One X sometime during the summer.
