Sony launches 55-inch and 65-inch 4K televisions in India

The new 4K TVs bring four times the resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) of a full HD TV. This is the first time in India that 4K technology is being made available in 65-inch & 55-inch models by Sony.

Sony claims the new 4K X-Reality PRO picture engine reduces visual noise and corrects image shapes, while the TRILUMINOS Display LED backlighting is said to present rich, authentic colours with subtle tones. The backlighting also replicates bold colours including hard-to-reproduce reds and greens.

By integrating QD Vision’s Color IQ optical component with Sony’s unique display technologies, the new 4K TVs offer what is said to be a significantly wider colour gamut. This new technology enhances the quality of content captured on Sony digital cameras and camcorders that are compatible with "TRILUMINOS Color". Furthermore, Sony’s Blu-ray Disc players, which are compatible with the technology, also benefit from the improved quality.

One of the USPs of the new X series 4K TVs is the cutting-edge magnetic fluid speaker technology – a pair of stereo speakers flanking the display. Utilising a Signal-to-Sound Architecture, the magnetic fluid speakers and the unique digital signal processing technology deliver smooth midrange, lower vibration and deep bass. The front-facing speakers extend the new design concept to match the exterior aesthetic, with an angular outer cabinet.

Both models are Wi-Fi enabled and offer a wide range of internet-connected services, including Sony’s smart connect solutions, enabling cross-device connectivity. In addition, One-touch mirroring and TV SideView provide additional content options by connecting media sources across the home to the TVs. The newly-launched range of the 4K Ultra HD LED TVs will be available across all Sony Centers and major electronic stores across India.
