Two Spanish football clubs have more fans than 30 American NFL teams combined

Football (soccer) has always dominated American ‘football’ in terms of global popularity, and a recent infographic is proving that the real football is actually light years ahead of its similarly named counterpart in the US.
While the NFL’s 30 most popular teams have only about 60 million Facebook fans and Twitter followers combined, some of the world’s most popular soccer teams have around 207 million fans to their names. Digging a little deeper, and we see that Spain’s Barcelona soccer club, alone, have approximately 61 million fans and followers.

The only American sport team that comes even remotely close to achieving worldwide popularity is the Los Angeles Lakers basketball franchise, with 19.6 million fans and followers.
