To challenge supremacy of Canvas HD, Lava has recently launched Iris 504q for Rs 13,499. It has a 5 inch high definition display, 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 megapixel rear camera, 2megapixel front camera, 2000 mAh battery, gesture control and a lot more.

But the question is whether you should go for the Micromax Canvas HD or the Lava Iris 504q as the phone have a price difference of just Rs1,000. We have already reviewed the Canvas HD so we are in a good position to talk about its performance, and we expect to review the Lava Iris 504q soon.

In terms of display both Micromax canvas HD and Lava Iris 504q have a 5 inch IPS screen with1280 x 720 pixel resolution. The only difference in Lava has used One Glass Solution (OGS) technology, which promises a wider viewing angle, sunlight readability and touch response.

Micromax Canvas HD comes with an 8 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and auto focus. There is a 2 megapixel camera in the front.

Processor, OS, RAM
Both the handsets come with the same MediaTek processor which has four cores and 1.2 GHz clock speed.
In terms of operating system Lava Iris 504q comes with Android 4.2 and Micromax Canvas HD A116 has Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
As far as RAM is concerned both the smartphones have 1 GB RAM.

Micromax Canvas HD comes with a free flip cover inside the box and on other hand Iris 504q also come with a Flip cover and USB on the go cable( one can attach pen drive using this cable).

Most of the times there is a mismatch between what is claimed by the company and how the device works in real time. We have done a thorough review of Micromax Canvas HD and fond some issues with the camera output.
On the other hand we had spent just a few minutes with Lava Iris 504q so we will reserve our final verdict. But if we look the spec sheet of both the smartphones they are almost identical and the major difference is that Lava Iris 504q is priced Rs 1,000 cheaper as compared to canvas HD
