OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 beta seeded

os-x-mountain-lion-betaJust recently Apple released OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.4 for the public. Today the company has seeded OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 beta to developers, who will test it out before this update is released to the public.

At WWDC 2013 Apple unveiled OS X Mavericks. It has finally moved away from the convention of naming OS X software after big cats, the nomenclature now derives its inspiration from California, where this software is developed. The Developer Preview of OS X Mavericks was seeded recently, with its public release slated for this fall. Till that happens though, OS X Mountain Lion retains its top spot. Version 10.8.5 its likely to come with crucial bug fixes and won’t be bringing over any new features.
It is being reported that Apple has also seeded OS X version 10.8.5 to the Apple Retail Team for extended testing, which will be conducted in a controlled environment. In the release notes, developers have been told to focus their attention on Graphics, wake-from-sleep, PDF Viewing and Accessibility as well as the Wi-Fi. It is too soon to say exactly when OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 will be released for the public, but since its likely to be an incremental update, the release might take place in the next couple of weeks.
